Will your mobile processing work with my existing phone, tablet, and internet connection?

How are mobile transactions priced? Are there extra “mobile” fees?

Mobile transactions run through the same interchange-plus pricing you get for the rest of your account. HMS exclusively quotes interchange-plus, not opaque flat-rate bundles. That means you pay the underlying card-network interchange cost plus a small, transparent markup, with no separate “mobile surcharge” just because you’re using a phone. Your proposal will clearly break out per-transaction costs, any monthly account fee, and optional gateway/virtual terminal fees so you know exactly what mobile processing will cost at your volumes.

How quickly will I get funded from mobile payments?

Mobile transactions fund on the same schedule as your other card sales, for most merchants that means next-day funding when you batch before the cut-off time.  We can automate batch settlements so your mobile, in-store, and online sales all close out on a consistent schedule, helping you keep cash flow predictable. If your business or risk profile requires a different funding timeline, we’ll explain that during setup so there are no surprises.

How secure are mobile payments, and are you PCI compliant?

What do I actually need to start accepting mobile payments with Host Merchant Services?

You’ll need three things:
  • A merchant account with Host Merchant Services,
  • A smartphone or tablet (Apple or Android), and
  • A mobile reader or compatible mobile POS app such as HMSPay or Clover Go.
We help you choose the right hardware (simple Bluetooth reader vs. full handheld terminal), set up the app, and test your first transaction so you’re confident before you go live. In many cases, mobile readers are included at low or no up-front cost for qualified merchants as part of a custom package.
